Job Description
We are currently seeking a Farming Technician in Bakersfield, California.
Position Reports to:
Engineer
Perform Other Duties as Instructed by Supervisor:

Responsibilities & Duties:
Perform all functions of an engineering development technician.
This includes utilizing strong observational and analytical skills to monitor performance of systems and recommend best practices.
Responsibilities will require the operation of equipment for planting, harvesting and other functions related to carrots and vegetable growing.
Qualified candidate will occasionally assemble various mechanical components for equipment including, electronic sensors, belt rollers, bearing, motors, sprockets, chain, guards, belts.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform other duties as required or directed by the supervisor, including travel to various fields and different growing regions.
Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing.
Walking on even and uneven surfaces, sight, hearing, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing up ladders of equipment, reaching forward, reaching overhead and below the shoulder.
Lifting and carrying 50 pounds while walking in wet conditions.
Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Qualified individuals must possess mechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skills.
College degree and computer skills required.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
Must have the ability to travel as required including overnight.
Must pass drug/alcohol screen and physical and functional capacity screening.
Must have valid drivers license and clean DMV record.
